In reference to the Circular number 94-D/2005/01, dated 8th June 2005, it had been previously informed that all the private employment agencies recruiting non-professionals recuritees under work-permit to register their names one hour before at the designated office at airport immigration on their arrival in Maldives.
Moreover, in the recently revised rules and regulation on19th June 2008, it has been categorically informed that only people recruited from India and Bangladesh has to be received at the airport in our Circular 94-D/2008/877. And any recuritees not received will be provisionally taken care of by this department and transferred to Male’. But it is with caution that we have noted here such recurrence of state of affairs, where this department has to look after these non- received recruitees sheltered in Male’ for long stretch of time, is a health hazard and a risk to public at large.
It has been the principal understanding that it is a responsibility of recruiting agency’s to receive the recuritees at the airport and dispatch them to their employer at the earliest.
Hence it is been decided and declared that from, 7th December 2008 onwards, to cease the registration of non-professionals recuritees.
